- I don’t think think we should be going into full lockdown again - too devastating for the economy… but there should be v tight enforcement on distancing, masks etc(Italy and Germany show it can be done)… and of course there’s no enforcement so we’re fcked… the protestors out today are total nut jobs , of course they are - they want no restrictions at all.
I do think telling people to wfh this week was madness… really don’t think offices (Presuming they are covid safe) nor transport is where this thing is spread… but because of the government recommendation, business in the office districts are now history…. totally unnecessary imo when first port of call should have been shutting pubs.
The lockdown back in March was the right thing to do imo but we have learnt a lot about the virus since then….. viral load is the key thing to know - if you stay at least a couple of metres away from strangers that are nearby for more than 5-10 mins you should be ok… no face to face conversations with strangers without masks, that kind of thing. The government should have educated people way better than they have on all of this - when I see people with masks on the trains happily sitting next to people without because they think a surgical mask protects them from covid I despair…
