Hursty I genuinely thought that there was zero tariff , zero quota agreed in the deal.

Which is why this picture of the transaction was posted, Hursty. Seems you were fed more bullshit.

LT42 not my pic, Dave. I’ve no idea.

Then 1) why post it? and 2) call me a cunt for reiterating most people on here are anti-Brexit?

LT42 It’s fake mate, just logged into
      my Amazon de account

There’s only one person behaving like a cunt in this thread at the moment then, and it’s not me.

bosstrabs I posted it because it shows its cheaper to buy from the EU site than going through the UK site, the user is Irish. Why the panic, Dave??

bosstrabs ah fuck off ya soft cunt, lol. I was only messing with you. Absolute bants fail by the self professed bantz master.

bosstrabs Basically we are dealing with fake news, I’ll post up my confirmation screen. No such thing as import tax, complete bollocks.

Hursty it’s not fake, Hursty. It’s an Irish amazon user comparing his transaction through the UK and German site, advising Irish users to avoid the UK site.

But there is a new VAT and import duty schedule into the UK.

LT42 And as I’ve said, I have an UK account and a DE account so just did the same thing.

No import tax for me on a pair of random 50 euro headphones to be delivered next week from Germany to my home address.
              just 5 euro delivery. Standard.

Hursty You’re still not getting it really, it’s OK mate.

The country of origin and the type of good is important here.

LT42 Clearly lol. There is no import tax from EU to UK.

From UK to Ireland or DE to Ireland why would it be different? supposed to be no difference between UK to EU or EU to EU with the deal?

Import duty into the UK is not a tariff. They are two different things.

Unpicking what should be applied to what is a fucking mare though, which is presumably why some vendors aren’t shipping to the UK at all until they figure it out properly.

Why is there import fees on an item shipping to Ireland from Amazon Uk and there isn’t on the German site? Are there any actual Brexit experts on here who can handle these tough questions?

bosstrabs Yeah I noticed the first item I picked couldn’t be shipped, a Fire stick.

                        Ah well.

As I already stated, it would be helpful if you could give us the country of origin of the goods and the actual good (some are duty exempt, and some are duty exempt up to a certain value).

Don’t have the info, Dave, as it’s not me. I suppose the only difference would be if the product was from the UK, which would still mean the deal Hursty is on about is a load of bollox.
Either way, I can’t find an explanation, other than maybe Amazon crediting back those fees if indeed that “deal” is intact. I’m sure there’ll be more anomalies like this over the next few months that will need to be discussed in here, if that’s OK, Dave?
