      vinnyt77 No argument from me. Lots of arguments about where was best, who was buying, blah blah blah, I always think London shops can be a little bit London centric, which is understandable. I liked Plastic though on the occasions I went. Eastern Block’s tastes were always a little bit to techno for me at the time. Massive were boss on the breaks / prog stuff.

        Millsy Correct, I’ve mentioned it before but I once saw them shift 20 odd copies of Hybrid - Altitude before it had finished it’s first play over the shop sound system.

          Used to goto a few shops in London back in the early days. Dub vendor for reggae plus a few others. A mate was into D’n’B and used to buy from the shop where Ray Keith used work. But overall I found London not that good. Brighton used to be very good. Even my hometown of Worthing had a few decent record record shops. Always found 3beat to be very good even though I never actually went there as I used to get them posted after Steve Parry used to sort me out. Is it still going.

            Dan he seems to DJ in Acanteen now and again and it seems strange that he will be in there on the decks midweek whilst people are having dinner, and 99% of the people would have no idea who he is

                Think they tried to turn it into a shop / bar type thing and have had issues with the council. No idea where it’s up too.

                        Dubman Dunno, my assumption is they expanded into another unit or used the upstairs office space.

                            Does it have a lounge and if yes, what’s it like?

                                  I did, to buy records, lots of them, when it was just a record store, but I haven’t been since before they tried to do something else with it so I don’t know what it now looks like.

                                      a year later

                                      A load of good stuff I wanted this morning and queued early - it was fucking freezing. Got about 15 bits and only a couple of things that I wanted gone. It was mobbed and it’s got fucking expensive all of a sudden

                                      3Beat got the boot from the unit a couple of years ago. The owner was hosting raves in the shop during lockdowns and got busted. Oops
