  • Sasha and Digweed Hackney Church1st December 2023

rhouses I beg to digger. I was near the front at the church gig and they were alternating after a couple of tunes each. Sacha never took his headphones off.

rhouses Was your friend Willy Noglows (super progressive) by any chance? Only an idiot like that would come up with that nonsense.

Dry-Tinder He’s coming off a heavy heavy couple of nights, so he’s obviously (partly) taking the piss.

Think Al begs to differ while getting the papers, Rhouses.

RichM alistair He’s probably referring to all the female vocal driven stuff. Or when Sasha starts making you think about your life in the middle of the dancefloor. We’ve all been there.

      STFU Rhouses 😆

      Double murder in Hackney overnight

“ The shooting happened in Vine Close - which is in a small housing development in a quiet, residential part of Hackney - at about 18:30 GMT on Tuesday.”

Are they being polite with this description?

Locals don’t pronounce the H in Hackney.

Hursty Are they being polite with this description?

        How do you mean?

Smallman1 making it sound nice when by all reports the place is a khazi?

          Right you are.

          Hackney is a complete khazi.

The church was rather beautiful though

Think there are parts of Hackney that are absolute hipster central, with flats no one on here could afford - bar Smalls and his “Dina Carroll” trust fund.

Then once you pay your £750K for a shoebox, you walk round the corner and its something out of Top Boy.

IndustryStandard Think there are parts of Hackney that are absolute hipster central,

If ’ackney wasn’t bad enough before, this is what makes it even worse. Just because some plonker thinks it’s cool to pay £5 for a bowl of cornflakes at some pop-up breakfast bar stuck in between a Morley’s and a Chicken Cottage, that’s not an improvement.

The expression “can’t polish a turd” comes to mind.

IndustryStandard surely that’s like lots of parts of London and other major cities in the world, they all have massively expensive and shit parts close to each other and crime can appear across them all in some capacity.

For this there are parts of hackney that are generally very nice streets that look worth the £2m each property, but v near council blocks that have gang issues.

RichM yeah though Hackney is still easily one of the worst places in London for it, along with the Peckham-Camberwell-Brixton axis.

A few of my old classmates from secondary school bought flats round Hackney; can’t say I envied them it.
