Israel Palestine

All hospitals have large gas tanks (Oxygen etc) that could quite easily go up in a massive fireball if ignited.
What caused the ignition should be pretty easy to trace, given the monitoring Isreal do on Palestinian air mail - surprised it’s being left to analysis of grainy videos.
Either way, it’s fucking horrific.

From Bellingcat’s article on the event:
“As noted by Marc Garlasco, a Military Advisor at PAX for Peace’s Protection of Civilians team, the impact point does not appear to be consistent with the 500, 1000 or 2000-pound bombs used in Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs).”

Reliably proves that something landed in the car park

Along_the_Wire Chances of a failed rocket killing 500 in a hospital do seem quite remote don’t they?
As per my post above, the main impact point appears so small as to be completely inconsistent with a bomb, but rather more with something like a failed rocket. Plus the impact point was not a hospital building itself, but it rather landed in the car park. The hospital buildings are barely damaged at all as shown in the images and video above.
It seems incredibly unlikely that there is anything close to 500 deaths, and it appears those who died will have been people in the car park plus some who were camping on a grassy area by the car park from collateral.
Mad_Cyril What caused the ignition should be pretty easy to trace
See above. Whatever it was seems too small to be a bomb, but landed in a car park and set off cars. The impact of the blast and its collateral did not seem to impact the buildings.

No surprise Hugo has gone into the munitions weeds.
His Philly accent is so over the top here. Not a great moment for eastern Pa.

zackster I think it’s pretty clear who is responsible
Firstly, you’re going to believe the ‘Al Jazeera digital investigations team’?!
Secondly, even they don’t say that it was caused by an Israeli bomb or attack, rather even they seem to suggest it was a Gaza rocket which had been intercepted by an Iron Dome that then fell.
They also say nothing of the fact that whatever it was didn’t even hit the hospital itself.
If you go to Gaza and measure the crater personally then I will be forced to concede.

Hursty yeah Al Jazeera has no Arab bias whatsoever.
Even their video footage which zack posted seems to rather suggest it was a Gaza missile intercepted by an Iron Dome, rather than an attack.
You’re going to take Al Jazeera over the BBC, Bellingcat and Guardian? If even The Guardian don’t think it was an Israeli attack, then it most probably wasn’t.

Hursty There is no doubt the Israelis did this, anything to the contrary is pure BS
Do explain hursty. Quoting zacko won’t cut it either.
The desired outcome has been achieved. It will never be definitively proven, due to a flood of conflicting information, which is a heavily used counter intelligence tactic of Israel. Bottomline for me is Bibi’s own government official said they did it. Simple as.
