Agree with both of you tbh. Certainly it points to the fact that all parties and all politicians are enabled by corporate decisions as opposed to the decisions that are important to the people, a sad fact of modern life. I just wish people would treat them all the same instead of being so pathetically partisan.

RichM In an ideal world they give it the green light but ensure the solution deals with climate impact as much as possible, to slightly offset how bad flying is for the climate. Ie give priority to airlines who are improving the climate impact of their planes

I think there is a balance to be struck but is unlikely to happen, I find it hard to fathom that people in my local town have to attend “warm rooms” made available by the council as they are unable to keep themselves warm at all due to the costs according to an article I read this week

How is this possible in 2025? But then if we need cheaper dirtier energy to provide for people what is the impact on future generations? This is hard to quantify but I think fundamentally we should have a duty to provide basic amenities at an affordable price for the people who need it presently. Probably isn’t a popular opinion

Not really, I never expected much from them, as mentioned, Tories in disguise.

You can see them struggling with what to do with the economy and handling the media, but I’d still rather have them than any of the opposition, bar the Green party. For the moment anyway.
