Homegrove I’ve loved all of his three mixes this year. The Juction-stream was deffo more club than the other two though.
seanc80 Homegrove I wouldn’t go back to it after hearing it once though. I thought the Tomorrowland mix from last year was probably the best ive heard from him during lockdown
seanc80 Yea maybe it was just me. Thought it was textbook Dixon in places. Thought the Johannes Volk - 8 Bit Horizons track in particular was absolutely amazing. Blew me away when i heard it.
SM001 Homegrove Like most of Dixon’s studio mixes, I have no earthly fucking idea if I enjoyed that or not.
ScottBailey Been to many Dixons in my time. Got a wicked little cassette hifi from the one in Taunton many moons ago. Cained some proper essential mixes on it back in the day!
jonattonyeah Dixon has always brought it every time I’ve seen him. His recorded sets don’t quite paint the right picture. He can really work a soundsystem and his mixing is right up there. He’s a top drawer DJ.
deadhead Ok, now I actually have expectations… thanks fam, you were supposed to bring those down a bit so I get to be blown away at the gig
jonattonyeah deadhead He gives no shits so the tempo might be 125 when he starts. Doesn’t matter. He’ll pitch it down to 110. It can be a bit jarring from an energy standpoint. But give him time and the dude will have the floor going.
LT42 jonattonyeah I experienced that 1st hand and it was an awful move on his part. He never regained the momentum and effectively ended the night/morning for everyone. He’s a good DJ but I’d question his reading of a crowd after that. Everyone was well up for it, there for the taking, and he balls it up.
LT42 Smallman1 No doubt. Guys at his level should be all rounders though imho. Especially with the rep he comes with.
