Don’t they have to run with Harris on the ticket as the money that’s been raised is for Biden/Harris.

I read something like that, but I’ve also read that it doesn’t ultimately matter, so I’m not sure. Either way, Harris is just as unelectable as Biden, something needs to be done.

Good, there’s now an actual chance of beating trump as long as they don’t fuck it up by running Harris. Newsom is everything that pisses trump off and will send his insecurity off the rails. He’s younger, better looking, more accomplished, and will eviscerate trump in a debate. The ability to go toe to toe in real time, calling him out on his lies could win over the undecided voters and “moderates” who couldn’t stomach voting for an 81 year old with dementia.

What about Pete Buttigieg

Not this time, running a gay man against trump is a massive gamble and not worth it. Same thing with the Michelle Obama rumors, maybe in the future, but now isn’t the time.

Smallman1 Probably and it’s a huge mistake. The democrats don’t care about winning elections and that would pretty much confirm it. She’s got a better chance than Biden did, but it’s marginal at best.

It absolutely would, but I’m not sure middle America is quite there yet. Her only shot would be to absolutely hammer the roe v wade decision and hope it’s enough of a wedge issue. I still think she’s unelectable though.

She’ll be better in debates for sure, but she’s not well liked as far as I can see. She didn’t even make it to the 2020 primaries because she was polling so low and her polling has plummeted along with Biden over the last 4 years. She needs to win over “moderates” and a good portion are still sexist and racist. She’s got an uphill battle and an open competition to find the best candidate instead of the next on the succession list seems like a much better idea.
