Sainz is the man, what a driver! If Ferrari sort their shit out next season they will be a force.

One more lap and he’d of picked off Gasly yesterday. Can’t remember watching such an exciting finish for a long time

Hursty Can’t remember watching such an exciting finish for a long time

Silverstone a few weeks back - with tyres exploding all over the gaff?

It will be interesting to see how the young brits get on over the next few years, Norris and Russell both have massive potential.

There’s not much to choose between Norris and Sainz, considering Sainz is the only team mate who has ever really competed with Verstappen, the future for Norris seems bright.

I reckon Russell in particular will be one to watch though, very highly thought of by Mercedes. I watched most if his races in F2 the year he won that series and there’s no doubt he’s the real deal. He’s put that Williams in places it didn’t belong a few times now and there aren’t many drivers on the grid who are capable of out performing their cars.

LT42 I couldn’t get over how young these guys are after watching the doc on Netflix.

    Which doc is this Liqui?

Smallman1 Not sure the title of it. Type Formula 1 into the search and you’ll find it, 2 seasons. It’s top quality. The episode about the race in Singapore is unreal. 40 degrees inside the car and trying to navigate that tight track at those speeds, I’ve so much respect for them. The concentration levels are off the charts.

That’s the one. Great viewing. Even if you don’t like the sport.

LT42 They’re spoilt rich kids in the main. There must be thousands of better drivers than these cunts in the world, but they’ll never get near it.

Along_the_Wire I dunno about that. From what I’d take from it you’d do well to find better drivers than them. They have to produce or they go back to F2 and F3.

Agree about them being spoiled rich kids in the main but they’re incredibly gifted at what they do.

LT42 It’s not possible that the best drivers in the world come exclusively from wealthy families.

Along_the_Wire Not saying that’s the case, mate. They might not be the best rally drivers or Motocross racers but they’re the best F1 drivers. It would be like saying there’s probably thousands of better players out there than Nadal or Messi.

You can be rich and spoiled and still not cut the mustard with a top F1 team, I’m sure there’s thousands that have tried and failed.

Any kind of motorsport, even karting is very expensive. There’s no way you can even get started without having a lot of money behind you but to get to F1, the drivers have to go through so many different racing series, anyone lacking the necessary talent, regardless of how much money their parents have would be found out before they got anywhere near an F1 car.

The best young drivers will be picked up by the major teams junior programmes at a very young age. Even for those drivers, the pressure to perform is immense and they are never far from being replaced by the next up and coming talent if they aren’t getting results.

The drivers that have fended off all of the competition, from their early teens or younger, usually become the top F1 drivers.

All I’m saying is that the talent pool is tiny from the very start.

You’ve got to laugh at this ‘Eco Venture’. Basically we are going to travel to 5 remote locations in the world, transporting all the cars, kit and people using planes/ships/lorries to race E-SUVs across natural habitats.

              Very thoughtful of your Lewis.

rhouses Yeah, of course - but saying that he is “without doubt” the best driver/fastest on the grid etc etc is meaningless. I would LOVE to see him and Hamilton in the same car, as I reckon it’d be a fantastic match-up. I think Hamilton is the faster driver, but have no way of knowing that without seeing them in the same machinery - and no one really does…
