At that speed its a gamble by both drivers, Verstappen turns in expecting Hamilton to ease maybe. 50/50 for me, I don’t think anyone is really at fault, that’s just racing. Hamilton defo surprised him by dropping the shoulder and moving to the inside the way he did.

Perez tried the exact same move as Hamilton at about lap 45. He only stuck his nose up there but he had a look. Which basically renders all of Christian horner’s bellyaching null and void. I normally have a lot of time for him but that was a bit much

Horner is still whinging about the crash. It’s formula 1 racing ffs, racing incidents happen.

Used to have a lot of time for him but this season he’s not keeping his cool as much, pressure of being in the mix for the title again finally?

Hursty It’s been surprising to see the way Redbull have reacted to this. Horner and Marko both making themselves look like total tits.

Not sure about that.

Hamilton is brilliant around there but based on how the cars have performed this season on tacks with similar characteristics, such as Monaco (where Mercedes were terrible) It’s a track that is likely to suit the Red Bull more than the Mercedes.

I hope you are right though. I like Verstappen but have never liked Red Bull, mainly due to the management.

Hursty Looks like a great track to drive, Terrible for racing under these regulations. If the cars they’ve designed for next year work as planned races like this one should be a lot more competitive.

Quite a few overtakes on a track designed for much smaller cars, strategy changes as the race developed, hometown hero being the first of good countrymen to win the race. We all know that the current regs don’t favour close racing, so I’m not sure what else you were expecting?!

vinnyt77 A lot more, I’m not a massive F1 fan just a sport lover, compared to Silverstone this was a static race for me, the top 6 didn’t even have a sniff of overtaking each other

I enjoyed the race and the circuit personally. There’s a few other tracks where you can’t overtake also in which tactics have a big bearing on the end result.

Got it. Most of the past few seasons have been ‘for the purists’ - which is a wanky way of saying ‘dull as fuck’

I’ve seen WAY worse races than this in recent years. So, judging from a fairly low bar, I thought it was decent!

These are the races that I love the most as it happens. The concentration levels are so fucking impressive, zero margin for error all day.
