NasserAlazzawi hope they do. My old laptops (music and regular use) are both still working great, but I hope to get another year out of both. Will have to replace both when Windows 10 support stops in October of 2025. Neither of mine are eligble for an upgrade due to their age.

Also try this:

  1. Preferences, View - Waveform drawing rate = MEDIUM
  2. Try and listen to music whilst tracks are not importing, and other tabs are closed
  3. Close Google drive and dropbox too - they can really affect Rekordbox if they are analyising/syncing new files - RB7 caused it to re-upload a lot of the mp3/wavs it was coming across presumably because it was writing new metadata into the ID3 tag - this may be a big clue!)

Homegrove I’ve had mine 12 years, plus my white MacBook can still run Traktor vinyl…. It’s 18 years old. A solid investment.

      Racist!!!

Pleased to say the rekordbox team have fixed a lot in one go with RB7, and released 7.0.2 today.

Some of you have been showing them where bugs are on the different windows/mac / pioneer hardware types. I also showed them the one in bold below - I think @Unbroken1 may be able to claim the Reordering of Tracks bug.

All the fixes are listed below!

      ver. 7.0.2 (2024.06.25)

      FIXED

      • SoundCloud playlists only showed up to 100 tracks.
      • Incorrect sample rate settings when using Bluetooth audio devices.
      • The keyboard shortcut [Search in the collection] didn’t work properly.
      • Pressing SHIFT+ENTER in the comment of the track information screen didn’t result in a line break.
      • Some fixture channels didn’t work properly in Lighting function.
      • Occasionally, reordering of tracks in playlists didn’t work properly.
      • Preview playback stopped occasionally. (woohoo!)
      • Unable to display scenes on the LIGHTING mode’s Macro Editor screen.
      • Potential crash when sorting items in Column View.
      • Potential crash when closing [Preferences].
      • Occasionally, the settings for the [Vinyl Speed Adjust] in [Preferences] weren’t reflected correctly.
      • The TEMPO slider on the DDJ-REV7 didn’t change the track tempo correctly.
      • Improved stability and fixes for other minor issues.

Someone on Reddit cottoned on to something that was sneaky with Rekordbox 7.

Rekordbox has been quietly dropping units from “free” plan Subscription License

When Pioneer (Alpha Theta) made the update to Rekordbox 7 a couple months ago, they also started dropping units from the performance mode unlocks.

The following units will no longer unlock performance mode (and in some cases DVS) for free, and they will now require a subscription to keep using the units with the new updates. Looking at the wayback machine save from February and comparing to the current hardware unlock list:

        • XDJ-RX

        • DDJ-RZX

        • DDJ-RZ

        • DDJ-RX

        • DDJ-RR

        • DDJ-RB

        • DDJ-XP1 (this used to unlock DVS with other mixers/controllers in RB5 and RB6)

All now require a subscription to continue using (per the compatibility chart).

The one exception seems to be the DDJ-RZX, which doesn’t appear to be supported at all anymore.

Solution if this affects you, stay on Rekordbox 6.8.5

If you have a library created on RB7 and you export your playlists/WAVs/ backup to an external drive, can you hook it up to a laptop using RB6 and you can access the playlists/content on the hard drive? IE. sync between the two.

Homegrove It says on the above Compatibility Chart it unlocks DVS but it does not unlock Performance Mode. Is that what he means?

Actually - I’ve just had a look at the older Wayback Machine thing in my post and it does appear RB6 let it unlock performance mode.

So for him to use RB7, he needs a Hardware unlock Mixer in the middle, or a hardware unlock controller.

I don’t think many people have realised this online yet (Interface 2 isn’t very popular)

If he doesn’t have he right device in the middle, he should dial back to RB6.

Been playing around with RB7……its come a along way since my CDJ900 mk1 days !

One gripe….probably old man related…but its all a bit small and black. When in performance mode the mixer section and CDJ/Decks are very small and not that easy to read. Im using a 13.3 inch retina macbook and the Traktor GUI with the grey/white/black setup is way better/less cluttered

Any tips and tricks to make things a bit easier on the eye/de-cluttered? Ive increased the track library font that helps on track searching. Its just the whole deck/mixer/effects sections that are a hot mess…

Finally…is there a view where you can totally minimise the decks and just have the majority of the screen as track library? I will be using an XDJ XZ at the weekend so will just want to see track / playlist info on the laptop rather than jog wheels etc
