Some of the errr younger ones at work complain that the mixes I foist on them and they feign interest in are too “moody” and suggested I did a drum and bass mix. So owning approximately 6 DnB tracks, I supplemented them and tried to mix them together as a DJ might. The first attempt sounded like a chap carrying a tower of saucepans falling down a flight of wooden stairs. This is the second effort.
i await the sound of incoming artillery……

I no expert on anything apart from breathing.. what’s that track called played around the 14-15 min mark with that killer baseline.

I love a bit of DnB, Got this lined up for later on, cheers!

Jules72 cheers mate. it was actually very enjoyable getting used to the beat patterns - i have total respect for the fellas who used to play this on vinyl and time all the drops and things , under pressure, in the pitch dark in a heaving club…..

Nice work, Baggers. Just finished listening, good stuff!

It’s Mystic sunset..one of my old mates was big on D’n’B scene on the south Coast. He reckoned it was easier than mixing 4/4 records. I’m with you though it seems a lot harder. I still struggle mixing breakbeat on vinyl.

I find breaks easier to mix to be fair, especially with the filter.

I really struggle with this too. I’m perfectly capable of decent mixing on turntables but just cannot do it with breakbeat. Whenever I try, it sounds like it’s the first time I’ve stood behind the decks! I think it’s why I have so much respect for LTJ Bukem’s skills, as I simply can’t comprehend how he does it

Enjoyed that. Adam F is a great gateway artist too.
