New Live In Stereo Montreal from Digweed.
- Edited
I do wish they’d both attempt another joint compilation.
Here’s a novel thought lads. Some people may want to purchase these kind of things, for various reasons. They may also enjoy listening to music from other sources such as Mixcloud, Transitions etc. I am pretty sure Digweed isn’t putting a gun to your head to buy this!
elrobertos Fucking A
Do rather miss GU and Renaissance mixes.
Would like a new Northern Expo mix, but it’ll never happen!
I’ve got all of his Live Ins, but like a lot of you I’ve not enjoyed them that much. They’re just ok, with exception of Tokyo, Toronto and Montreal (a bit of beast!).
But the rest I can hardly remember, versus Renaissance 2, for example!
Live in Slovenia was truly horrid, while we’re chatting.
Hopefully the Live In series will end on a high though!
Cordoba, both London mixes, the 9 disc Montreal release and one of the Brooklyn ones are the best ones. The rest I agree are very forgettable. Slovenia was just not for me, and I couldn’t get into Tokyo at all.
The 9 disc Montreal is a fantastic mix
PeterSpadang slovenia is a grower. I mean it’s not a slow starter and hits you in the balls right from the off, but actually i quite like it after a few listens.
Sorry I really really don’t like it. And I have tried, believe me.
Slovenia is easily the worst of the Live In series, so I guess it’s probably Sir John’s weakest all round. Even his Fabric is (a bit) better!
still going with the CD approach is almost impressive. I’m not sure what box in the attic my cd player is.
I really only like South Beach one
Montreal is great for first 3 discs, but then it gets mediocre pretty fast
I don’t remember Toronto and NYC tracks at all
Miami somewhere in between of average and waste of money
Junodownload has it a bit cheaper than Bandcamp, but of course Bandcamp has unlimited download and their own streaming app. Tidal only seems to have the singles, it’s not on Spotify in any capacity yet. Went with Juno, and will just spread it across two hard drives. Aiff download will take awhile.
Cheers H!
I had a despatch email yesterday for this, didn’t think it was out until 25th?
Anyway, I’m not sure how I will actually get to listen to this. The only cd player I own now is in a spare room, and it doesn’t have a headphone jack. I can’t imagine I’ll have time to listen to it all in one go at home. I used to listen in the car but most newer cars did away with cd players. Bit of a reg really
What with this and your MBB declaration, you’re having a right old week.
Diving into the Apple Music offering….. see you in 5 ½ hours … 60 tracks time
gcw I think gcw has had a double account hack from Wiggi and Strudders here. Poor lad.

I’m nearing the end of CD 3, at the Remcord-section, tops are off!
Said sitting on the couch alone in the livingroom while the missus is rewatching Lost upstairs in the home theatre.
Lost? God help her
Along_the_Wire hey I like it too. Well, liked, have not rewatched it but I have nothing but fond memories of the show.
JJ Abrams can eat a bowl of dicks.

Can you post back? Worried you’ve listened yourself into a coma!

I enjoyed it a hell of a lot, but due to the nature of the set (way longer than the released 6 hours) it lacked big moments. So it made me wonder how much of an audience is there for these kinds of things anymore, with the current culture of short big moments in social media that influences experiences in real life, and is that why he’s said this is the last one.
Anyway, I love listening to these long DJ sets, and the reason I release my long home DJ-sets whenever I play them is that I hope there are sickos like me who still enjoy listening to a DJ set that’s longer than 90 minutes, either at home or when out with headphones.
Homegrove i’m of others persuasion on here now that all these long sets are just not viable for listening to properly during a normal day. Unless it’s going to be broken up into parts which really doesn’t serve the mix well, you just get into a state of hearing the first hour, then having to stop/start again until it never gets finished.
Listening to it today and every second or third track made me want to stop. Good tracks sandwiched between some organic house shite and/or some bland, plodding paint by numbers Jamie Stevens production that sounds like all the rest.

Exactly.
Outside a club environment, who has 4 uninterrupted hours to listen to a mix? The whole idea of a mix, to me, is that you listen to it end to end. That’s just not feasible.
Listening in parts is fucking pointless.
In a club it’s a totally different matter, for obvious reasons. Is a large reason why I checked out of the Live in… bollovks a long time ago.
TLDR: You’re wrong @Homegrove
Must caveat that I actually like your longer mixes too, but rarely get the chance to do them justice.
Will generally just listen to the first hour. Maybe once a year I’ll get the chance to go end to end
Is this Digweed mix any cop?
Not sure I’ll listen to it in a club chief.
