bosstrabs I don’t know what gives me a bigger headache - Hugo’s posts or Mario Piu ‘Communication’ (Somebody Answer The Phone)

Only heard it once in a club not long after release - Josh Wink and King Britt at the Velvet Rooms for Ultimate Base. No Coxy that night. Josh Wink dropped it and the place erupted switching between joy and confusion. Did like the Velvet Rooms, but the only reason we went was because one of our mates got his fake ID rejected at the door for Bedrock.

Ended up going to a Whoop It Up night a few months later and heard this -

Also played Andy Ling - Fixation on the wrong beat. They weren’t great DJs that night. Think it was just the residents.

BlainSA Ended up going to a Whoop It Up night a few months later and heard this -

The flip of it is great though. Dark monster remix from Nick Muir, Lee Burridge and………. Flares. Yeh…

Dan You appear to have mixed up ‘corner stone of muscular house’ with ‘shit trance guilty pleasure’. You might want to have a think about possibly editing your post Dan.

Prepare to eat your words, Mr Mills.

Millsy At what point, in ypur experience listening to electronic music over the years, have you heard a track and thought ‘you know what this track needs? More trumpet’

Dan This was about 94 wasn’t it?

    Definitely not ‘Crasher/Cream trance era’.

Cream were mostly booking people like Pete Tong, CJ Mackintosh and David Morales around this time, and I don’t think Gatecrasher even existed (if it did it was in its early incarnation in Coventry or Brum before it moved permanently to Sheffield).

bosstrabs Sasha dropped it at Fabric once. 2000? Something like that.

And yes, I know it wasn’t made in 2000

BlainSA I have heard it played out probably 8-10 times, it is still a classic. See also: Joey Beltram - Energy Flash.

Not a tune I’d particularly associate with Cream or Crasher trance though.

HELLO HUGO I AM JOINING YOU IN THE WEEDS.

bosstrabs lol!! I still return to it every now and again …..the surges of energy from the crowd at the breakdowns ….

baggers44 Without listening back, or checking the tracklist, I recall he played Mauro Picotto - Lizard and it went off absolutely massively.

Sasha dropped BBE - 7 Days which also tore the roof off.

benson somebody played energy flash at matter as the last track on their warm up set.

At least she pitched it down to -8 so it could be more warm-uppy 😆

Dave’s unlimited effusiveness for this topic and his disdain for crasher kids always make me suspect that he actually was one.

It’s ok if you were Dave. We all did silly things when we were young. It doesn’t make you any less of a person.

              Never a Crasher kid.

But I did, shamefully, wear Acupunctures, use glowsticks and at one point twisted my hair up into spikes.

                Why “shamefully” Dave?

Should we feel shame because of things we did when we were young and experimenting with different identities?
