bosstrabs BlainSA I have heard it played out probably 8-10 times, it is still a classic. See also: Joey Beltram - Energy Flash. Not a tune I’d particularly associate with Cream or Crasher trance though. HELLO HUGO I AM JOINING YOU IN THE WEEDS.
benson bosstrabs somebody played energy flash at matter as the last track on their warm up set. A lady I think. Before Sasha. Found it. Scarlet eyienne https://ra.co/events/64025
Amps bosstrabs Not a tune I’d particularly associate with Cream or Crasher trance though. Can confirm both Access and Energy Flash got regular outing over the years, but not necessarily by the usual suspects.
baggers44 ScottBailey get in !! Oaky creamfields 99 track 2 - maybe the greatest ever hour of a live mix
baggers44 bosstrabs lol!! I still return to it every now and again …..the surges of energy from the crowd at the breakdowns ….
apyssjw bosstrabs me too! He was on after the pet shop boys. Left pronto to head over to catch the end of nick warren’s second set of the day, who was on before Sasha (with pvd following on).
bosstrabs baggers44 Without listening back, or checking the tracklist, I recall he played Mauro Picotto - Lizard and it went off absolutely massively. Sasha dropped BBE - 7 Days which also tore the roof off.
BlainSA benson somebody played energy flash at matter as the last track on their warm up set. At least she pitched it down to -8 so it could be more warm-uppy 😆
C_J Dave’s unlimited effusiveness for this topic and his disdain for crasher kids always make me suspect that he actually was one. It’s ok if you were Dave. We all did silly things when we were young. It doesn’t make you any less of a person.
BlainSA C_J Queuing up at Don Valley Stadium for NYE was an experience and a half. Still can’t get over how those Crasher kids looked. One guy with spiky green hair was sucking a dummy, had a see through backpack with a little teddy and a little bed, presumably for when teddy got tired.
bosstrabs Never a Crasher kid. But I did, shamefully, wear Acupunctures, use glowsticks and at one point twisted my hair up into spikes.
vinnyt77 bosstrabs But I did, shamefully, wear Acupunctures Loved my Acunpunctures back then. Only broadly similar pic I can find. Deffo a guilty pleasure….
C_J Why “shamefully” Dave? Should we feel shame because of things we did when we were young and experimenting with different identities?
bosstrabs C_J Should we feel shame because of things we did when we were young and experimenting with different identities? Are you calling me gay or something?
bosstrabs Millsy Pastels were dead the minute Rhouses and Smallman hopped on. I’m doing royal blue and Kelly green nowadays - bold colours for a bold new era!
Smallman1 bosstrabs I’m doing royal blue and Kelly green nowadays - bold colours for a bold new era! Lol!
Dry-Tinder Them cruncher kids really were bellends. I had some good nights in there, none of them were due to them cunts.
C_J I think what happened was that a couple of people started doing it and they got a load of positive attention (i.e. sex) so others started trying to emulate them and then it started escalating as they competed to outdo one another. I guess it’s just another example of peacocking, ultimately.
Dry-Tinder I went to one of those so called legendary PVD 6 hours sets. I don’t care what anyone says he cannot put a coherent set together to save his life. He was all over the place. I thought that it was just me, but then Dave Haslam wrote a whole chapter about him in his Wheels Of Steel book.
bosstrabs Dry-Tinder Yes, I also thought 2 hours of PvD was more than enough. The 1st hour was always the same bpm and same crescendo-ing formula as the 2nd hour.
gcw Dry-Tinder agree. Never ever got the hype with him. A couple of great remixes admittedly, but not a great dj. He won the dj mag award one year didn’t he (when it meant something)
Old-Dutch Dry-Tinder Yeah I did one of these. Got a coach over from Liverpool. Ashley Caselle on warm up. PVD waa doing his album launch and played Another Way 4 times ffs lol
Amps Dry-Tinder he cannot put a coherent set together to save his life I’ll argue his corner here. post Oakey we’d have him on in the Courtyard maybe twice a year, three to four hour sets, and he always delivered. Driving trance. Everyone loved it. Boss vibes etc.
