Well, a lot of people here were asking for another MMII. What’s wrong with a proper, well thought out mix by the likes of Sasha and Digweed? Apart from sales.

ScottBailey at risk of going further into the weeds with you, you realise that most of the GU’s after 007 are Pro Tool’d the fuck out of and not recorded live from the club, right?
Yes. I was just responding to MC’s comment that GU has “the concept of the mix coming from a club night”. If you have an issue with the phrasing then take it up with him.
My point was given there are so many mixes now available actually taken directly from nights, then the idea of basing a mix around a club night seems less of a selling point.
If only it was. Tenaglia’s set was better than the gu by miles

Have either of them done a mix CD in the last 20 years that matched the ones that they did in the 90s? Them Live In mixes may be great in a club at the time, but at home, they sounded shite.
I tried listening to Transitions every week for a while, but with the exception of some of the live ones I didn’t think that they were that great. The only other difference for me was many of the 90s releases were listened to at after-parties and got a lot more plays. I don’t think that I would even contemplate putting a Live In on at an After-party. That 96 Zen mix was probably played around mine at afters every weekend between 1997 till around 2001.
It would be interesting to know what Ed puts on at his afters these days.
Dry-Tinder Yes, the live in mixes haven’t been close to the planned sets. Would be great if they did produce something like the 90s planned mixes, but would they bother?
The funny thing is, I love what Sasha is playing at the moment, I’ve loved his live sets more than I have for a long time. The LA and Barcelona sets have been on constant rotation this year, along with his Estonia set from last year. It probably helps that I have been going clubbing a lot more as well, if I recognise some tracks it at least leaves a lasting memory.

I don’t put anything on at my afters, if anything, I take it off.
Oi oi!

HIV? Positive
Dry-Tinder If you play the same stuff regularly that’ll happen. Different philosophy isn’t it. Digweed has said he always wants to play different stuff Vs Sasha who has always played pretty much the same stuff in either the same or slightly different order.
