    How many piss poor people from khazi council estates in Britain vote for the Conservatives for the same reason? Or will now be voting reform for that reason? Or voted for Brexit for that reason. They’ll happily be poor if it somehow keep the foreigners out. Mild British xenophobia is the only reason the Conservative Party / right wing politics has continued to be a force in this country, it is the reason that turkeys vote for Christmas, not that anyone will ever say it out loud on the TV or radio.

                Amps you are right, plus they are too thick to know they are being impacted right now. But when it hits them in the pocket surely they will then be questioning how great Trump is? By then he will reverse it all and make it look like he is helping them (having made the rich even richer)

                          Amps The British aren’t very xenophobic at all, in my experience.

                          Certainly much less so than the Mediterraneans or East Asians.

                          Probably vote Tory because they are tired of absolute left-wing belters going on at them and end up thinking “Fuck me, what if these mad cunts like Amps and Hannu get in and we have to pay for badger sanctuaries and tampons in men’s toilets as well, tax is going up 2p in the pound at least”

                              RichM there will be a few US businesses that bring chunks of manufacturing back on shore and the Trump regime will then trumpet this from the rooftops while ignoring the inflationary impacts everywhere else. The MAGA mongs will lap all this up of course, safe in the knowledge that Don has their best interests at heart.

                                    I live in a cul-de-sac of 12 houses, and admittedly most of my neighbours are of a certain vintage, but at least half of them have given me the ‘johnny foreigner’ chat at some point.

                                                    Just because other places are horrible doesn’t mean we are good. We’re also talking about voting, which we do in private, not how overt a nation is in it’s emotions. Plus, I did describe it as ‘Mild British xenophobia’, huge swathes of Brits are quietly racist in my experience.
