RichM but why not keep him for another couple of seasons? We will need to pay £75-100m to replace him, which means spending less / no money in other areas.

Yeah, but what if he wants 500k a week? (not out of the question) Factor that into the cost.

No contract offer doesn’t mean him and his agent haven’t discussed expected terms.

bosstrabs but he had said he had had no offer from Liverpool. So not even at the stage they offer him what they are prepared to pay and go from there. Agree if he wants to something we aren’t prepared to pay then it’s game over and he leaves. Problem is that th replacement will cost a fortune and they will want massive wages, so we end up paying that anyway.

For me it’s more about managing rest of the squad and transfers. We could keep him for a season or 2 and start to spend money in other areas, so when Salah does leave, we can just replace him. Obviously this all depend on the other 2s contracts, as if they both sign then we can just focus on replacing Salah (and a new DM)

RichM I for one am surprised by just how good he has been this season. Last season suggested he was in slow decline. Always good to leave with the crowd wanting more.

I think he wants to stay, just waiting for the contract fairies to square their lives away.

You can’t just replace Mo Salah

alistair He’s been stringing us along in the nicest possible way.

You are literally the only person that is saying this.

If Mo wants 8 billion quid a week he should just go to Saudi.

Got him down as a right greedy bastard.

bosstrabs You probably said “shite, get rid” when he was at Chelsea. Him and de Bruyne.

      That was MOANinho Dave.

RichM I think Salah going public with any info on his contract is a cunts trick. No idea what he is playing at. My guess is he wants to go or he wants some mad contract; so he washes his sheets in public and puts all the blame on the club, then when he leaves he’s seen as wholly innocent. Bizarre ego nonsense.

The thing to remember is that Fenway have gotten transfers spot on for the vast majority of their ownership, I would say they have bought and sold as well as if not better than any other club in their time, and that isn’t about to change now. If Mo doesn’t get the contract he want’s its because it’s bad for the club in general terms, or if he leaves he wanted to go all along anyway.

Like Dalglish said, no player is bigger than the club. Trust the staff to get the transfers right, they have been for the last decade or so.

        Can’t argue with Dogleash there

Some big games in Europe this week.

Bodø/Glimt’s visit to the Theatre arguably the pick.

Mad_Cyril Bodø/Glimt’s visit to the Theatre arguably the pick.

Am I right in thinking Ipswich was the full extent of Amorim’s honeymoon period and that a loss at Bodø will see a sink hole open up from Stalybridge to Urmston, swallowing the entire clubs place in the space time continuum?

Amps Possibly. He visibly aged over the 90mins at Portman Rd watching them run around like mongs.
