I can understand provincial clubs wanting to tie up with historically successful clubs like Liverpool etc, but I have absolutely no idea why you would want to associate your team with a club like Chelsea.

All down to the NI situation. The links loyalism and the skinhead/NF subset of it too.

Used to go to the Blues matches as a teenager and def remember games when there were groups of chelsea and rangers lads over for a visit. Would have stayed on the shankill and east belfast and been welcomed like long lost friends.
