That’s not what I said. I didn’t say “every player in the 1987-88 side was better than him” I said he’d have merely been an average player in that team. I wouldn’t have put him on the right ahead of Houghton, and I wouldn’t have him second striker/AMC ahead of Beardsley, so he’d have probably been in the middle, displacing Spackman or McMahon.
