The likes of Woodward and Agnelli both spoke to Uefa only a few days ago to approve and give their full backing to the changes to the Champions League all the while knowing full well that they were just days from backing out of the CL and starting the Super League.

I would guess banking on a mega TV deal, which is split between 15/16 (that is, the 12 plus apparently there will be a small number of additional ‘lucky’ invitees), rather than Liverpool/Spurs/United etc having to share TV deals with the likes of Burnley, Bournemouth and so on…
