I can’t eat a Seekh kebab any more thanks to Rhouses .
I have all my GU and various mix CDs kept in a massive sleeve, I discarded all the cases long ago unfortunately because I took the sleeve to Oz with me back in 2000. The CDs are safe right now, thats the main thing. My brother built a studio in the roof of his house back home so all the vinyl is safe now too.

This is the kind of Amps Original Content you all log on for I’m sure… Let me tell you all about it Ed! I started some years back with large ‘extra tough’ crates from a well known DIY mega store for moving rather than storing my record collection. These were bought specifically for their capacity and generously large round handles (handles are something of an issue in the vinyl moving and storage world). But on reflection the lids were never going to take the 50kg weight of the box above for an extended period of time, so stacking was out of the window, and in the world of rented storage, stacking and use of the vertical space is important. As such, I went ‘all in’ on some more industrial tote crates. These are a far more robust and although I couldn’t find any specific info on the load baring capabilities of my tote model before I purchased them, i was willing to bet each box could more than handle the weight of another full box of vinyl on top of it, and I was right. I went for the ones with a height of over 35cm, giving the precious vinyl some headroom, should the boxes become deformed or fail in any way, but i will be keeping my eye on them with regular visits back to the lock up. FYI, I’m a big fan of the Really Useful Storage boxes for more general household items; lots of sizes, strong design, good lids, good handles, proper locking, holes for cable ties, and they stack nicely too. I’m off to boil my head.

I appreciated it Amps.
And as an FYI this was my favourite sentence -
i was willing to bet each box could more than handle the weight of another full box of vinyl on top of it, and I was right.
