SM001 pretty sure it was 2004 about July- I was having a v strange time in my life and it blew me away that night - made a huge impression.

Speaking of sasha set openers, this one is possibly the wrong pace for this thread but he opened his Lush! 1999 essential mix with this one and never let up after it. He played another couple of hours off air and it was one of the best sets he ever played in Lush.

He played in oct or nov of 98 when he wa touring the san fran GU mix and that was up there too. An absolute pleasure to witness someone at the absolute peak of their powers like he was then.

That lucid track is brilliant.

Trainspotter fact. It was the first time he played xpander in a club and brought along his own acetate. If you listen it’s different than the finished/released version. He gave col the acetate after the gig that night.

It is a (mostly) brilliant mix. Although I still think his 27-02-2000 Essential Mix trumps it as PEAK SASHA.

I was just using it as the best example I had of the self-indulgent 3 minute intro, though. One of the negative points of that mix.

Were you in Lush, mate? Or at the reciprocal gig in the red box? Was an hour live from each club. With an isdn link to dublin when Emerson was playing from there. And vice versa for sasha in lush.
