Dubman yeah you definitely need to be working for yourself, customer based rather than site hut even a couple of years on with a domestic builder/company would be great experience if starting out. Even if you learn what not to do

Most of my customers are repeat plus I’ve got a couple of landlords and 2 estate agents who keep my busy too.

Know what you mean about the back. Fell off a ladder a few years ago and now have to be careful what I’m doing as one wrong move and I’m laid up for a week

LT42 interesting viewpoint, I’m guessing you’ve never worked in the industry? Like all vocations it depends on who you are working with/for, there are worse jobs around.

I spend a lot of time hunting for insider threats (cue Dave), its engaging to say the least

I used to feel sorry for some landlords. I’d redecorate a mouldy bathroom or bedroom and tell the tenant they must ventilate the room if they’re drying clothes. I’d get a call to go back and redo it. Some would even isolate the extractor fan because it was too noisy. They just didn’t care

Dubman I’ve had this before. Some tenants don’t care. Think they can treat a place like shit and they’re entitled to treat it that way. Most of mine are decent. Lot of the landlord stuff I do is between tenants which I much prefer. New kitchens, doors etc.

Hursty Its not for everyone as I said. I did some cyber security modules thinking it would be an interesting area to get into but after completimg them I moved swiftly into systems & networks instead. I couldn’t imagine doing that as a career as it really is boring staring at numbers all day. More power to you if thats what you’re into.
