Listening to a couple of good K Klass mixes today namely Ruined in a day and Joe Roberts Lover and then stuck on their album (one of my last cassette purchases) with Let me Show you, Rhythm is a mystery et al. Made me wonder, where they are now and if they are still
producing in different guises?? Enjoyed their early DJ sets at Cream back in the day too.

Still used to play out a lot round Chester about a decade ago, but never bothered with them as it was in venues I wouldn’t go to (Rosie’s and the student union).

Still playing mostly old skool nights. I think it’s mostly Russ who djs isn’t it? Sure I heard sometimes ‘K-Klass’ is just him.

The veterans tour. A bit like golf, you can still make a decent living. Problem is you’ve got to play the old hits!

alistair They undoubtedly made some great tunes, but I wouldn’t be bashing down doors to get to see them (or anyone else) play a set of early 90s piano house.

Probably my least favourite genre to endure a full set of (one or two carefully placed tracks is ok)

bosstrabs me neither, just reminiscing. Remind me of my early clubbing years and they had a good clean sound. Rhythm is a mystery is a beauty

bosstrabs me too. Kelly, Block and Pleased Wimmin had a few that I hammered at the time

bosstrabs check out that footage of 1990 Clubbing that I posted. A more innocent time with no smart phones!

        Fantazia Discs;

        House Collection: Graeme Park
House Collection 3 : Alistair Whitehead

‘The classics’, ‘jon pleased wimmin’, Mike Cosford et al were pony in comparison.

File in same shit bucket as J××××y H×××y, B××××o and Pxxxy

K Klass also boss at the time.
Decent set on the Haç all day stream

MC, with this cockney-scouse slang combo you’re reminding me of Loopdokter.

        Blimey.

You’ll pick up the colloquial alignment with residential location of DJ at some point.

        Not sure I follow.

Mike Cosford is from the midlands IIRC.

The Graeme Park Fantasia mix is one of my all time favourites, the first CD that got me interested in ‘dance’ music.

Mike Cosford - blast from the past - wonder what he is up to now?

gcw Cosford same as the above, playing golden oldies sets at places like Butlins.

gcw Mike Cosford - blast from the past - wonder what he is up to now?

If there’s any justice he’ll be the fella who collects the portaloos from festivals

Dan brilliant spot. Is actually better than some of the more well known Weatherall mixes

Dug this gem up from my collection. Sounds as fresh as the day it was made. And that voice!!

Their remix of Caught In The Middle is pure handbag, however it’s got one of the greatest piano drops of all time and I love it dearly

nicksneddon Love a little bit of classy handbag. An Alastair Whitehead night for instance would always guarantee a good looking dancefloor

nicksneddon Great track….love the Morales mix. Reminds me of Rulin@MOS.

alistair True but it always used to get incredibly boring/samey.

In Cream you could escape the main room when it was handbaggy, the Annexe was always better anyway, but at a night like Moneypennys it was tedious.

bosstrabs agree with that. That’s why I used to mix up Ronson, Basics, Hard times and Vague when I studied at Leeds and went clubbing every weekend. Back then, it had the variety. Students don’t have like we did then especially now

In hindsight, the variety at big nights was one of their best features, you could get your fill of everything move around if you got bored and the crowd would be a good mix of people etc. Going to a place with three or more rooms of the same thing has little appeal at the moment.
