Smallman1 Big Jay Rayner also a fan! https://www.theguardian.com/food/2025/feb/16/dont-tell-dad-its-a-class-act-restaurant-review
Wasily Went to Plates a few days ago. https://plates-london.com/ Not the biggest fan of vegetarian food but got a seat at the kitchen counter and had 7 quickly served courses which were really good for about £65. The menu looks typically ‘Michelin’ but they’re a friendly bunch and enjoyed the atmosphere there. Recommended.
Wasily vinnyt77 No idea myself but apparently wife says the dough was stretched and layered- bit like puff pastry. The overall effect was akin to to a cinnamon whirl.
RichM Smallman1 that place has been around since the 1980s, we probably don’t need your feedback on this one!! Never been myself as French food is way down on my preferences of things to eat when in London. Enjoy though
hugopal Smallman1 I can’t make the French House unfortch Just get a 909 and then filter a few disco loops.
RichM In the spirit of just naming restaurants we have been to, I went here last night. Been a few times now and the food is always fantastic, and some of it is blow your head off spicy. It’s set up like a rough and ready canteen style place you would get in Thailand so they do a great job of making the whole thing feel authentic (apart from the prices as this is in central london). The muu hong, khua kling muu 2 highlights. Plus I love the stir fried veg as it has a smoky flavour to it which Thai food is great at doing with simple veg dishes. https://plazakhaogaeng.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/PLAZA-ALC-JAN-2025-1.pdf
Smallman1 I walked past there about 15 minutes ago Rich, unbelievable Jeff! And is a fantastic restaurant agreed, have been a few times and it has always been superb.
