A list of restaurants
Smallman1 They had doner on the menu, and we did have a chicken doner as one of the dishes and fucking magical it was too.
No need for chilli sauce as it came with pitta and massive long green peppers which were hot as fuck.
I’d like to slide one of those long bastards down your Gregory and then stamp on your throat, Smalls.
bosstrabs lol
True about the sauces. You very rarely see a hot sauce, if you do it’ll be a bottle of run of the mill açi sos thrown in with the salt & pepper basket but nobody would use it. Heat would come from the spices in the meat and those peppers you speak of which are excellent to be fair. The Doner with garlic or spicy sauce can’t be found in Turkey. The tomato and chili sauce that comes with traditional iskender is to die for, especially when they add the hot butter. I’m getting the horn just thinking about it.

Sounds like the Turks need a lesson in cooking Turkish
Lol, they’re getting it all wrong!
Old-Dutch lol, in their defence they do knock out doner sans garlic sauce but filled with chips instead. Standard ketchup optional. Plus the islak burger is a thing of beauty, its basically a McDonalds cheeseburger (sans cheese) dipped fully in a watery tomato sauce, basically translates to “wet burger”. Got the horn just writing that too.
Doner with ketchup?
Palestines!
No butter, no cheese.
How I roll!
Got a local Turkish restaurant which has started opening up restaurants and takeaways all over the gaff by me.

It’s lovely
Like the look of that menu Dutch.
Thanks Dave.
There’s a group of unlikely restaurateurs who have got together around my way and they are opening up cocktail bars and restaurants in the empty units on the High Street. It’s fucking ace to be fair. Got so many local options on my doorstep now (with more on the horizon) that I can sack off having to head up town for a decent meal.
No doubt that there’s money laundering going on. But the places are all great
