That place sounds shit.

For reference, Da Dong’s ducks (Heston video below) are about 50 quid for a full one. Abalone can fuck off, by the way. Overrated.

My personal favourite in Beijing is Si Ji Min Fu (one star), which is a serious gaff and costs about the same for a whole duck.

I would, it’s essentially an upmarket Cafe Rouge but I enjoyed it.

Probably more of a lunch place tbf.

vinnyt77 Jane Eyre (Chorlton) - much needed recovery roast. Was awesome. Pork belly and beef sirloin both expertly seasoned and cooked, and some of the best roast potatoes I can ever remember having with a roast. Sensational

Went for lunchies with the wife this afternoon, was underwhelming. A few decent dishes, but several flavour combinations were pretty poorly executed.

For a few quid short of a ton would expect a lot more.

North China highly likely as it’s a Smallman family staple.
