Up north especially round Bradford this has moved onto what is known as baseline music. The same baselines over chipmunk vocals with loads of wannabe gangsters from the local estate Mcing over the top

phatfingers is like the Bradford version of Sasha

Along_the_Wire 99% of the stuff was shit especially the vocal, London geezer bollocks, but come on, Armand’s Sneaker Pimps, Nu Yorican Soul, CJ Bolland remixes still punch hard. It’s those beats and basslines. Van Helden was the dogs bollocks for a few years and was a breath of fresh air from the ubiquitous and very white trance bollocks. Funk Phenomena, Professional Widow, you don’t know me. The list goes on.

Speed Garage….Larry Levan is turning in his grave.

Millsy his album cover on born to do it warranted a hard kick in the nuts.

      Twat

alistair Having a few tunes that I would never connect to that genre doesn’t pique my interest in any way.

Matt Jam Lamont and Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown were the Sasha and Digweed of the garage scene.

Remember, garage, it’s where you put the junk you don’t want in your house.

Alistair when you saw EZ play, were you lovin lovin lovin it, lovin it like this?

Lol at EZ. Still playing the same sets he did 20 years ago

Apparently his Boiler Room set is a “must watch.”

          No thanks.

The Merciless World of Speed Garage is probably my favourite speed garage anthems package.

mono-stereo Lol at 101%. Just when you thought you’d had enough speed garage, they hit you with an extra ‘bo’ to add a percentage point.

Fucking hell everything quoted here is pop music, some garage is excellent.

Yeah I don’t think we’re talking Roy Davis Jnr - Gabriel and the like Nick to be honest. The thread title was speed garage. Do you have a good track from that sub genre?

I’ll rummage through my HD when I get home 👍🏻

              Does this count?

Just waiting form Amps to ‘step up’ with his super speed garage gif..selector.

Smallman1 check his Fabric set. He isn’t in the slightest bit commercial mate

nicksneddon I agree. I mentioned some of it earlier. In addition, MJ Cole Sincere, Roy Davis Jr Gabriel, Wookie Battle, Nu Birth Anytime.

              My favourite garage artist?

              Norris ‘Da Boss’ Windross.

Closely followed by Shanks & Bigfoot.

              • Dan replied to this.

I remember it well and quite liked it because I was at uni at the time so the nights they had on were union ID only, so you could appreciate it without all the moodiness that came with it.

Zed Bias - Neighbourhood, Zinc - 138 Trek, some absolute bangers, and you’d find the South London bird you were dancing with was actually an English Literature undergrad rather than some absolute badass who had a boyfriend called ‘The Dentist’.

check that bass. Pure speed garage

Would nice n ripe records be classed as speed garage. Was always a fan of some of the early grant nelson stuff
