Once spent 9 hours orbiting Catford at 20mph on Hernan Cattaneo rail.

Hursty and it doesn’t even go into central london unless more funding. I’m sure the demand for a train between Old Oak Common and Birmingham must be high enough to warrant the billions we are spending on it!

They’ve not scrapped the Euston bit have they?

Thought they’d just bounced the main contractor?

Mad_Cyril bbc said something about needing extra funding for the line to Euston. Seems ridiculous, surely the whole idea was for this to be from london to the north. They will most likely rename oak common to London central oak common to get round the problem

Mad_Cyril don’t think so, but it’s north west london. Surely is this is about speed of getting from london to Birmingham it doesn’t make sense to stop outside of central London and make people change onto another line. Am guessing that 20 min journey saving will disappear as they then spend 20 mins or more getting to where they need to be

Around my way the Estate agents were selling newbuild flats on the premise that HS2 was coming through the area. It isn’t stopping, just coming through on lines. People paying a premium for HS2 so they get to hear it and see it flash past their flats. Reg

            Thought was near North Acton?

Wasn’t an overly serious post though, was doing Shepherds Bush <> Chancery Lane last week and that was a ball ache.

Especially after being booze-poisoned by @ScottBailey

RichM It could work well if they have frequent connections from Old Oak Common to Heathrow and south London, because those places are a fucking pain in the arse to get to off the West Coast Main Line.

You have to go to Euston then across London in a stinking tube carriage to Paddington or Waterloo or Blackfriars at the moment. Utter reg.

Still, I can’t imagine any actual joined-up planning happening from a UK government.

Mad_Cyril Please post about these ‘board drinkies’ or whatever you call them, just to annoy Dermo.

It was more Sean than myself but..Yes! Let’s have a get together guyz 🍻🏳️‍🌈👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨

                Amps Massive bilge-points here.

Are you trading the points in for BUSINESS CLASS flights and LOUNGE ACCESS?

Mad_Cyril BUSINESS CLASS flights and LOUNGE ACCESS?

Great Scooby Doo style reveal at the end of year awards: Amps is a four beach holiday a year man, two of which are at least southern hemisphere. Probably owns oil and weapons stock.

Amps Bit disingenuous, spain has a population density of 96 people per square km, England is 434. Makes it a bit more difficult to just lay track.

benson also this was financed around 20 years ago and the Euro value has inflated considerably since then

benson I read up a bit on this after Amps post and things mentioned were your point on the difference of how densely populated both lines are. Also the huge costs in the UK to pay for obtaining the land and protecting nature. Does make me wonder why they still bothered with trying to go ahead with the whole thing
