  • Most Enduring Commercial Mix Comps

Smallman1 I heard Sasha drop Ruhe’s Schiller in Sydney in 2004, again, mamma mia!

He played it in Fabric a couple of years ago. Magnificent record.

zackster agree a lot of it hasn’t aged well, but think that mix has, but I’m biased as have always loved it

The Coldcut and Josh Wink choices are great shouts.

The James Lavelle mix on the Tribal Gathering 96 comp is up there for me too

zackster I think about getting back into therapy, just to tell my analyst this story, and when I get to the “Danny Tenaglia just came on” part, he or she underlines “faggot” on their note pad while nodding.

LOL 😆

Smallman1 way past his best. Like taking someone to see Chelsea and expecting the 2004-2005 vintage

Nothing commercial about these two but two all time faves of mine Totally different but just as good

My regular answer for best mix comp fits here too. Deep Dish - Yoshiesque.

Homegrove Seconded. That James Holden Balance was never out of the CD player for months - some mix that was

Not one mention of Northern Exposure yet. Would have thought it wouldn’t have been high on the list.

zackster I saw him at the ministry and he got an umbrella out during one of the tracks 🤔

Smallman1 He was playing some of the worst music I’ve ever heard and then jumped in front of the decks, got on the mic and tried to lead the crowd into some sort of ‘walk like an Egyptian’ dance.

        Lol

alistair by commercial I meant sold for cash. It was to keep free or give away mixes out.

sbando lol yeah… Saeed and Palash’s Tide Edit mix also sounds like 2020

Dan oh god that sounds fantasic.

The thing I like most about the vid I found is that was probably filmed at like 10am. No shame in playing until noon if you are playing a marathon set, but turning up at 7 in the morning on a meth suppository and firing light cannons into the air is some next level shit.

Reflecting on it now, DT was kinda Berghain before Berghain was Berghain.

          • Dan replied to this.

Lol fuck that is such a DT tune too. I see him being incapable of controlling himself to that one. 👌🏼

I love that vid of him playing to about 15 hipsters in his loft. Think it was a promo vid for all the gear he was flogging.
