Never really paid enough attention to Season 2 of The Wire, and I’ve never repeated it like the others. But now on second watch, and really listening in on all the conversations, it’s definitely the most heartbreaking and intricate of the lot. What they do to D’Angelo was brutal and that last conversation he has with his mother was really emotional. Same with Ziggy, his character really annoyed me and you’re just waiting for him to be clipped, but they just fuck with you with the way they deal with him (and his family) in the end. Season 3 and maybe sometimes 4 are obvious favourites, but really Season 2 is where all the magic happens. Plus they set up S3 beautifully in it.
