Along_the_Wire ah I see where you come from. This season was a horror movie script changed into a True Detective-season because HBO wanted to work with Issa Lopez, but wanted to slap the True Detective-name on it to get people watching it. Best viewed that way.

Happens all the time. The second best Die Hard-movie Die Hard with a Vengeance started life as a Lethal Weapon-script.

Important thing to remember is also that from HBO’s perspective True Detective: Night Country was a huge success. It made big numbers in ratings, and each episode had more people watching then the one before. It was also talked about a lot, so probably got more people to subscribe to HBO Max (or just Max if you’re in America).

Along_the_Wire I think things are great at the moment actually. Just look at the best picture nominees in Oscars. When did we have such a strong roster of movies? I think 2023 was the best year since 2007 in movies. But beating that year is going to be almost impossible. Lots of great TV last year too.

TD 4th season overall was fairly underwhelming

On episode 4. Its very good indeed. Malcolm Tucker is excellent.

“I am disgruntled” episode of Curb is genius. In the top quartile.

Started Criminal Record last night, much, much better than i thought it would be.

Finished it a few days ago. It’s really good. One of the best TV shows I’ve seen a white.

Binged watched True detective and thought it was pretty good apart from a few things.8/10

Masters of Air keeps getting better. Surprisingly it got better after the Cary Fukunaga-episodes and different directors. I’ve also appreciated internet not spoiling some of the turns despite it being a true story. Especially the end of episode six.

erik you shouldn’t be disappointed unlike True Detective
