How many businesses have closed down because of Amazon.

Mad_Cyril We’re the same with Amazon, it’s only for something we can’t find anywhere else. Does it help? Maybe not, but all we can do is vote with our wallets because our governments are owned by these companies and will never work to solve the problem.

I have my treadmill set up by a window that overlooks the street. I’ll see a delivery truck every 5-10 minutes and multiple vehicles from the same service. It’s so inefficient and most of it is shit people don’t even need.

I’m going to work on cutting out anything involving a feed where an algorithm determines what I see (and likely what I do), reduce screen time, cut the cord as best I can. Basically live like the 90s again. I feel like we’re all taking in so much information, it’s destroying our brains. I wish I was an actual outdoors person, I’d just move somewhere warmer and get off the grid all together.

So far no ads in Finland. I suspect that will change soon enough.

Homegrove I think they test in in a few regions then roll it out because no one cancels. I scrapped Netflix a couple of years ago when they increased pricing for everyone who was grandfathered in. Everyone online said they were doing the same, but almost no one did. You’ll be getting ads in the very near future unless Finland is a massive outlier and you all cancel.

It’s going to take some time and effort, but I think it’s a good idea. For me, the internet has turned into a handful of useful tools and sites, with the vast majority being dumb people and bots spewing shit in every direction. But enough about this board, etc.

303abuser we don’t have Amazon here yet in the store-sense (I sometimes order from the German one, UK or Sweden-stores don’t deliver here), and I don’t think the streaming service is very popular either, though they do advertize with their bigger shows (Rings of Power, Reacher).

True Detective is dogshit, even the supposedly amazing 1st Season, with its stupid fucking green haired monster ending.

True Detective would be absolutely the sort of thing Homegrove would say is the best TV show ever.

I could probably program a fake Homegrove bot and no one would know the difference.

Homegrove-bot would also think everything Jack Black has done is amazing.

Really enjoyed watching - The Jury: Murder trial on ch4 this week. A true story where they used the actual transcripts form the original trial but had two separate juries to see if they came to the same decision. Both juries had no idea there was a second jury until the end
