Jules72 balance is the right word . If you can find a role where you have a decent work life balance and live within your means that’s the ticket .
Think I’m getting to a point in my life now where I could take a sideways step for less stress. Banking jobs in the south east at the moment in my line of work are pretty horrendous vs here in the US. The one good thing the US have done vs the UK is limit offshoring roles . Over here I actually manage teams and people face to face (pre C19 obvs).
When I work from London all the staff just spend all day on the phone to India making sure the offshore teams are doing what they should be doing . Continual Tech issues, calls dropping, communication issues, etc etc. Not great career satisfaction in my book.
