Greed staring Steve Coogan. A story about a retail fashion billionaire and all the excess that goes with it from buying cheap clothes made in Sri Lanka. I think it’s loosely based on Sir Phillip Green. It’s pretty poor to be honest 6/10

Starred Up. Someone recommended it and it had 99% on RT. Stressful watch, violent with what I thought would be an inevitable ending. Horrible. 6/10
Bombshell. Pretty good, very slick, didn’t know the story at all. A lot of work on show. 6.5/10
Code 8 - an x-men style movie that follows a group of them who use their powers to rob banks and deal drugs. Not bad.
Three Kings. What a cracking film - never been on my radar. 8/10
Along_the_Wire your film reviews lack punch without CJ following you round decrying them. Symbiotic relationship needs reviving if this thread is ever to take off
Three Kings is a classic.
Groundhog Day.
How many days did he endure? Memorize Jeopardy is a week or so. A new language has to be a few years. And to shred on the piano has to be 10 years. Given the suicide attempts…I’m thinking 18 years of the same day. Over/under 18 months.
8/10
jonattonyeah somebody on Reddit did the math and came up with something closer to a thousand years.
One of the best “that guy” actors Stephen Tobolowsky is in it for about 2 minutes and steals the scenes away from Bill Murray. Ned Ryerson! He told Empire that it’s still the character most people recognize him for, and even got him safely back to his hotel when he got lost in Reykjavik. Some guy who he thought might mug him instead wanted to make sure Ned Ryerson is seen safely back to his accommodation.
Pan’s Labyrinth… Del Torro really does have an incredible imagination. Similarly to the Shape of Water, a very strange story but quite rightly recognised as a classic. 8/10
Jules72 I fucking love that film.
C_J Three Kings is a classic.
Back of the net!
Capone.
Utter bollocks. Definitely not Tom Hardy’s best work.
I couldn’t even finish it!
Really like Hardy. That one he did where he’s a bartender; with Tony Soprano. Excellent little film. The Drop! That’s the name.
jonattonyeah Yeah, that really is an excellent film
I also liked it a lot. For once a twist that came right the fuck out of nowhere.
Booksmart (2019)
A film of such overtly progressive wokeness was always going to provide something of a challenge but ultimately I was somewhat won over by the stylish direction and acting. And the hot lesbo action.
Sort of like American Pie for snowflakes.
