Materialists - First half wasn’t so bad, kept me interested. The second half gets horrifically bad, almost like everyone involved stopped giving a shit, including whoever wrote the script. Dakota’s performance doesn’t help things at all. There’s a bizarre moment in the middle which I actually thought worked and was kinda funny. But otherwise, avoid like the plague. 4 / 10
Godfather in the cinema yesterday. Flawless, I don’t care what you say. Though, first time I’ve felt there are some quotes and portrayals of women that wouldn’t fly in this day and age. Can understand why my wife always switched off when I forced it on her, though she did it enjoy it yesterday. That domestic violence scene with connie and carlo also harrowing. They’ve got Part 2 lined up sometime next week, excited for that. 10 / 10
