Life of Chuck (2024). If you donât like sentimental movies you should stay away from this one. I really liked it, and got something in my eyes at least twice during it, the second one was seeing âIn memory of Scott Wamplerâ in the end credits. He was a voice in my ears for four years every week as the other host of The Kingcast before his sudden passing in 2024.
I really like Mike Flanaganâs stuff, and heâs an amazing Stephen King-adapter (he told King he wanted to adapt this novella, and King went youâre welcome to try, and Flanagan wrote the first draft of this screenplay in one weekend. And itâs perfect), but if thereâs something negative here, and in all of his works, itâs that even his theatrical releases feel somehow very Netflixy. Very TV, instead of cinematic. This too despite having an absolute murderers row of character actors and that guys and gals playing a small part in it.
But still yeah, this was solid. And despite dealing mostly with death it was somehow a proper feel good-film.
