Millsy I know, right? I’m an idiot…

I think I had that dumb “the book was brilliant and therefore must be better than the movie” mentality.

Twat.

Nicholson is incredible in it.

Him doing that and Chinatown in back to back years is like repeating in the Super Bowl.

    Homegrove

Was about 4 or 5 years later. But still. Insane run by Jack.

Gotta say, ’though, my fav Jack character might be….

Is in it for, what, 20 minutes? And crushes every scene. He’s Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. Lector steals the show, but he doesn’t actually get that much screen time. Same with Colonel Nathan R. Jessup.

He actually also did both takes, even when the camera was on Cruise, because he said you don’t get material like this too often, and he just loves acting.

Homegrove and he just loves acting.

It’s not a proper job though is it.

Though do agree he’s pretty damn good at it

Would like to see Jack at the coalface of business transformation.

The Shining is poor, but I’m biased as I find horror a bit dull and I was also annoyed that it didn’t follow the book very well at all (I loved the book when I was a kid).

I’d add As Good as it Gets and About Schmidt to the list of great films of his. Chinatown and One Flew Overt he Cuckoos Nest are easily his best mind and two of the best films ever made.

I watched The Pledge again the other day and he’s excellent in that too.

C_J I often wonder why people watch movies that have actors they hate. I also dislike Sienna Miller. I detest Mel Gibson and always have.

Major swerve for me unless critically acclaimed. This one wasn’t.

Embarrassed to admit i only watched the shining in it’s entirety, for the first time, at the start of this year. I enjoyed it. He played that character and scenario really well i thought.

Going to watch chinatown this weekend.

He was good in The Departed too, with his crazy hair.

That Eddie Radmayne gives me the heebie jeebies. No way I’m leaving him with my kids. Ever.

Haven’t seen Chinatown in yonks. May have to dig it out this weekend.

All I remember is the ending fucking me up. It’s been a long time for me too.

I watched it recently, been going through some classic films with our youngest - he’s been loving it and it’s been great watching films like that you haven’t seen for a long time. French Connection up next - what a treat

Nicholson is such a great actor, and Chinatown is superb.

Imagine a night out on the lash with Nicholson!

He was still crushing it with the ladies not too long ago too. Love this clip.
