Uncharted (2022)

I’m a big fan of the games and the wife didn’t mind watching this, so gave it a go. It’s the usual CGI bollocks though, with some of the most ridiculous stunts you’ll see in a film, including two helicopters hoisting two pirate ships above the ocean and having a fight whilst doing so. Tom Holland massively miscast as Nathan Drake as well.

My Own Private Idaho (1991)

This didn’t quite land with me if I’m honest. Took me a while to work out some of the scenes, before realising its a loose Shakespeare interpretation. I did think Keanu Reeves put in a good performance though. And the cinematography was good.

Bad Times at The El Royale (2018). Meh, it tried way too much. Good performances from Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Bridges, and Chris Hemsworth clearly had a lot of fun playing against the type.

Dumb Money (2023). The GameStop trading thing. You know the story already so no sudden twists here but passed a rainy afternoon. No one left. (6.5/10)

We ended the weekend by watching the OG Halloween from 1978. Pretty tame by 2023 standards, a random X-Files episode is probably more scary, but it was fun to watch the first modern slasher-movie again. Last I saw it I lended a VHS-copy from the library, so it was probably awhile ago. 😀

Miami Vice (2006)

I had high hopes for this as I was a fan of the series, but this was a mess. Too long, a poor story and a random romance between Colin Farrell and the main baddies bird. Not sure what Naomie Watts was doing either, could they not just have used an American actress?

Anyway…..a 3/10 from me

Wanted some easy watches last week after a pretty serious hand op. Reacher one and two - bit cheesy, but actually watchable. 6/10 each.

Strays. Funny in parts and well observed. Not one for kids. 6.5/10

Some climbing film that bored the living daylights out of me. Can’t remember the name and can’t be arsed looking it up. 3/10
