Saltburn (Amazon Prime): 8 /10

This one will divide opinion for sure. I really liked it, but everyone I recommended this to hates it- but I figure they’re snowflakes. Yes, there are some scenes which are a difficult watch and I should have told them it’s not a Christmas movie for the family, but some of the lines are top notch, e.g. Rosamund Pike’s explanation of why she’s not the subject in question in Pulp’s Common People. Impressed with Jacob Elori’s (Nate in Euphoria) range of accents too.

Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers is 30 years old today. So watched it. The train-scene is pretty amazing for claymation. And how does the penguin look so menacing?

Sicario 2 : day of the soldado - heard it was a step down from the first one and it is to an extent but it’s pretty decent and well worth a watch. Other than a couple of ‘lets set the scene for Sicario 3’ decisions towards the end, it’s well worth a watch.

Saltburn (which is now on Prime) has really divided the crowds, making it this year’s Babylon sort of. Anyone watched it yet?

Homegrove yes, I liked it. Read a bit about it beforehand so wasn’t as surprised as some about the way it went.
I know it was an artistic decision but I hated the respect ratio - boxy old TV style. Same person who shot Babylon too so there are still beautiful images but still annoyed me.

Saw Maestro last night. Not for the masses but Carey Mulligan is superb in it. Essentially a strange love story with a pretty harrowing ending if you buy into the characters. 7.5/10

Family Christmas movie for all 13 of us was……….The Family Plan. An utter turnip of a film. Should have watched Genie. 2/10

C_J watched it last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of themes and lots of ways to read into the film and the ending. 8/10 too
