IndustryStandard Maybe my Trab Thread takedown / dose of COVID made me a bit jaded over the weekend, but it didn’t hit the high notes for me i’m afraid.
Dubman Watched the Steve Lawler documentary. Not a bad film. Just shows how hard it was to make into the big time back in the mid 90’s. You can’t really argue that he didn’t put the ground work in. Bit strange that he never mentioned digweed or bedrock for releasing Rise In. Which I never liked and still don’t. 7/10
Dubman Dan Not digweed though. He did mention Sasha & Tenaglia and admitted he did make loads of mistakes when he cracked it. It must be even harder these days to make it.
Dubman Israelism - A new documentary which shows how Jewish children in the US are almost brainwashed into the pushing The state of Israel and what it stands for. Even going on the Birthright trip. But in the second half it showed how some Israelis are standing up for the Palestinians in the west bank as they are treated appallingly by the Idf. 8/10
Along_the_Wire 12 Angry Men. Read some news article that name-dropped this film and was curious - a really good film for its time - 1957 - couple of hammy actors, but by and large some strong work. Would make a brilliant play - 7/10
gcw Double Jeopardy (1999) Despite some very glaring plot holes/jumps I really enjoyed this. Tommy Lee Jones excellent again as the law enforcement type character, and Ashley Judd with her kit off. What’s not to like? 8/10
