Dune: Part Two. An incredible sci fi masterpiece. Epic story telling. No notes. Grant will hate it.

Millsy this makes part one make more sense. This wasn’t a sequel, but a straight up story continuation. The balls on Denis Villeneuve to trust he gets to actually do two movies coming off from Blade Runner 2049. It’s a great movie, but bombed. He had no guarantees the masses would like his Dune any better than they did his Blade Runner.

He did, he basically made some Star Wars bilge for 19 year olds.

American Fiction: Pretty much a flawless movie. Found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. Sterling Brown was hilarious. Would make a great double bill with The Holdovers. Easy 9/10, again. Small ding for the romance angle which felt a bit forced at times.

One more thing about Dune 2, I was really happy I watched Lawrence of Arabia just before this. There are a lot of straight homages to it in it. I mean you have to acknowledge it straight on and Villeneuve does.

Homegrove The marketing machine has pretty much ruined this for me and sucked out any sort of intrigue I had for it. They pretty much cut up the whole movie and distributed it all over the internet in the name of hype.

Will watch soon though.

rhouses oh there was a full scene of it that WB put on their Youtube-page that I’d watched, and it was so much better in the the theatre with the context.

Homegrove Just really annoyed that all the things I’ve been excited about seeing from the book, have pretty much been spoiled because they’re shoving everything down my throat. The trailer was insane in terms of spoilers.

I’m just going to assume this is going to be as awful as every other dune movie.

I tried watching Jersey Girl for the first time, how did that get made? I like Kevin Smith, couldn’t get through 45 minutes. Moved on to Licorice Pizza and made it through about an hour before shutting that off too. Wasn’t as bad as jersey girl, just not good.
