Along_the_Wire Dan the missus insisted on watching the first one at the cinema. I don’t think she’s been allowed to select a film since. Fucking dreadful.
Hank_Solo Dan agreed, epic film to see on the big screen. The bit where he runs across the sand and mounts Shai Hulud had me welling up.
RichM I see Blackberry is out on sky cinema on Friday, so will be all over that as it got some good reviews here
Homegrove Angel Heart (1987). Way better than I remembered. And I used to think it was good from my memories of watching it sometime in the 90s. I’ve never been a huge Mickey Rourke-guy but he’s really good in this, and Robert DeNiro gives one of his best unflashy acting performances (Jesus the little subtle stuff he does in this) as Louis Cypher. Say that name out loud lol.
Homegrove An American Bombing: The Road to April 19th (2024). Decent enough doc, could have used a tighter focus. Does a good job of explaining where modern American right wing extremism comes from.
Homegrove Dan he did this and Mississippi burning b2b. Clearly liked spending time in the South. Mailing notice for my copy of The Departed 4K in my inbox this morning. 🥳
Dan Homegrove He was one of my Dad’s old school mates. Sadly I never met him, but the old man used to have a beer with him all his old cronies from school. Very grounded bloke.
Homegrove 4K Blu Ray already preordered despite it having a December release date. https://www.indiewire.com/features/interviews/seven-remastered-david-fincher-interview-1234974911/
Phil-McRackin Immaculate. Sydney Sweeney, nuns and blood. Decent and builds to a pretty intense climax.
Homegrove The Vast of Night (2019). A straight to streaming Amazon Studios, set in the 50s UFO-flick that was actually pretty ok. The story is unoriginal, but it was very well done, and acted by a cast of total unknowns. I was hooked the whole 90 minutes.
