I always love how open people are here for personal opions.

No way is Jackie Brown better than Pulp Fiction

Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). I’m clearly 42 years late to the party, because I had trouble getting through this. It was just bad, I thought.

Furiosa, not as good as Fury Road, but then what is? Some amazing shots in this for which it’s worth seeing on the big screen, and Chris Hemsworth is amazing and also worth the ticket money alone.

Affliction. Fairly miserable film about a dodgy small town cop - good turn from Nick Nolte and even James ‘overacting’ Coburn is pretty good. I’d give this a bleak 7/10

    Furiosa (2024): 7/10

Not as bad I as thought. They avoided the Aquaman CGI fest where there’s so much going on it makes you feel sick. Decent truck action and it’s pretty respectful of its predecessors. There is a lot of ‘Australia question intonation/ high rising terminal’ amongst the backing characters/ extras which for me was a bit distracting.

Land of Bad. Soldiers stuck behind enemy lines. Unoriginal but pretty decent action with a gruff Russel Cross as a drone operator. On Amazon
Boys Kills World. Specially trained Mute killing machine out for revenge. Some good fighty stuff but a bit disappointing, was looking forward to it.

12 Angry Men (1957). Scratching this one off my never seen that one-list. A classic for a reason. The sweat continuity-guy was on top of his duties while filming this.

      Great film.

One to watch whilst your on Jury service.

I finished Jury Service a couple weeks ago. 4 week trail of some scrotes who’d carried out an aggravated burglary. Was a bit apprehensive about it beforehand but enjoyed it in the end. 4 out of 5

Phil-McRackin I had one for two weeks in 2007 with some bird who got caught with uncut rocket fuel. I didn’t want to give her intent to supply just possession….5 gammons we’re doing their nut at me. Obviously never appreciated a decent bit of gear. Plus both the Cops had conflicting statements.

          Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

I’m almost certain I have never seen any of the Mad Max films, although I knew the basic premise of the franchise. Anyway it took me an hour to realise that this was one big long road film lol. I thought the opening chase would move on to the actual premise of the film, not realising the chase was the film!

Thought it was OK, bar the usual stupid stunts. How many times did that pale white dude fall off the convoy at 100mph without any lasting damage ??

One of the better action films although I have no interest in the Furiosa prequel.

          7 out of 10

Dan I did it about 30yrs ago where a young former private school lad had been caught dealing acid…myself and a couple of other younger jurors argued against it and he got off. They then read out a list of previous offences 😂

Dan I had one for two weeks in 2007 with some bird who got caught with uncut rocket fuel.

Don’t suppose you got her number?

          • Dan replied to this.

            Phil-McRackin

Have done it a couple of times. Was really frustrating how dim some people are and the other jurors just wanted to go home early.

had a decent bunch luckily, most were happy to be away from work and our schedule wasn’t very taxing - starting at 10.30 at the earliest and latest finish was 4.30.
