alistair blimey, I watched Frantic yesterday and it’s nowhere near as good as I remember it - what a shame
Rate The Last Movie you Watched
Taxi Driver. I can remember when it was released on VHS back in the late early 80’s and we weren’t allowed to watch it as it was over 18 film. But now it’s pretty shite to be honest. No doubt it would be amazing on Blu-ray.. 7 mohawks /10
Rewatched The Score with De Niro and Ed Norton. Really enjoyed it. 7.5/10
Jackie Brown is good but better than Pulp Fiction? or even Reservoir Dogs?
Jackie Brown prob had the better soundtrack.
seanc80 yeah, but I mean we’re still talking two 5/5 movies.
Saw Hit Man at cinema, because while it’s a Netflix-film in the states, here it’s a theatrical release. Which was nice, because there were plenty of moments that were fun to see in a crowd.
I thought it was really good. The first act I kept thinking this is just as bad as the trailer, but when Glen Powell’s character meets Adria Arjona’s the movie totally changes, and it stays excellent until the end. Best chemistry between a male lead and female lead since George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez in Out of Sight. People have been trying to make Glen Powell happen, and I wasn’t sold until now. I’m still not 100 % with him as a movie star, but this was certainly a star making performance. ⅘ stars, would have been 5/5 if the first act was better.
Arjona is smoking hot. Hubba
Late Night With The Devil: Intriguing watch thanks to the faux retro documentary style, and it feels b-grade intentionally. Spooky watch for sure, but the end let’s it down. Definite throwback and inspiration from the movie Network, but doesn’t come close to that quality. If you’re a massive horror buff, it should work for you. It could have been special but felt like it was missing something or it felt a bit too obvious.

rhouses Enjoyed that
The Beast - no, not a flick about Millsy and his extra cirricular activities but an half French / half English art house sci fi flick about a woman in an AI led future having her human emotions removed to get a better job which leads to her reliving her past lives with a fella through 2 past time zones (our present and distant past) and her present.
Bonkers, long, pretentious and pretty decent tbf - the production design of the future segment reminded me of clockwork orange - the two leads are really good. 8/10
