“Revenge” is absolutely bonkers. Gore to the core. And a honey too. 8.1 / 10

My 12yr old was trying to stick his head out of the car window the other day and I explained what happens in it and threatened to make him watch Hereditary if he didn’t stop. He did stop.

Blink Twice - I think this is a great film - horrible and very tense as you start to piece it together - 7/10

Along_the_Wire true, he’s a difficult little fucker so it was tempting just to let him. Undiagnosed adhd/odd which has just exploded since he started high school. Just started the ball rolling with an official diagnosis. Safe to say life isn’t going to be boring over the next few yrs.

Dan Nope, it’s not funny, it’s just tense and dark. Well, there are a few funny bits.

Going to see Juror #2 on Sunday. Fair fucks to Clint Eastwood still making good films at 95

Lord of War. Nicholas Cage in a fabulous turn - great film about a gun runner. Cracking watch - a solid 8/10, almost a 9.

          Heretic (2024) 7.5/10

2 Mormon girls go round to Hugh Grant’s and attempt to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and The Latter Day Saints to him. Doesn’t go well.

Having met Hugh Grant in a LOUNGE (Klang) I could have forewarned them that initiating any sort of chat with him is fraught with danger. Here’s a pic of the back of his head.

This is a decent psychological horror film with a good smattering of gore, builds well and is helped by an excellent script. Much has been made of Hugh’s performance and predictions of Oscars are all over the net but though I thought it was decent, having seen Fiennes briefly in the preceding trailer for Enclave I reckon he’ll get the nod over Hacked off Hugh. The atmosphere in this is helped by a claustrophobic set and is the sort of script that I think will be easily adapted to a good outing in Broadway and the West end in time. Worth a watch.

LOL. Contender for KLANG of the Year

Endurance (2024). A new documentary about the discovery of Shackleton’s ship in the waters of Antarctica in 2022. It also tells the story of the actual doomed, but saved 1914 expedition. Made by the people behind Free Solo. Not nearly as good but solid Saturday-afternoon watch. On Disney+.

It is a magnificent barnet to be fair.
