Along_the_Wire it’s still a movie. It premiered at the London Film Festival. Sorry, got a bit Hugo there.

Wife suggested we watch Interstellar when we had plans for our Saturday night cancelled, since it just turned 10 years old. Yes I have a 4K Blu ray of it, and yes I cranked the volume. Our older cat tried napping on my wife’s lap, and angrily left the room twice in protest of the noisiness of the movie. The younger cat was lights out in my lap, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with his hearing.

Christopher Nolan at his most epic. On repeated viewings the exposition scenes start to feel more and more clanky (Inception is the worst culprit with this, it feels like half the movie is someone explaining things), but jesus christ the docking scene is amazing, the music and editing really make it work. The film also does not feel like it’s as long as it is.

Jesus Christ, The Substance is fucking insane. Bat shit crazy. Loved it. For some reason it reminded me of Requiem for a Dream. Agree, the last 45-60 mins could have been a little more subtle, a little less surreal. Incredibly brave and bold performance from Demi Moore, but she’ll never win an Oscar for this. Thought Revenge was a more accessible viewing, but this is worth the time. The last couple of scenes of Substance, plot wise felt weak which gives Revenge the edge.

      Homegrove the exposition scenes

See Raiders for the best exposition scene.

        Homegrove
Will put this on the ‘me time’ list.

If I’m not too tired after the wanking obviously

        The Funeral (1996)

Who wants to see a really shit but weirdly watchable gangster movie set in the 1930s that made about a million and a half off a budget of twelve million starring Christopher Walken, Benicio Del Toro, Chris Penn and Isabella Rossini ?

        You’re welcome.

        5/10

Caddo Lake (2024). A Max original movie. Produced by M. Knight Shamalan so that kind of a mystery movie. I liked it well enough, it’s the kind of movie best seen without knowing too much about it. ⅗.

        you literally stole my review

          The Apprentice

Really enjoyed it. Liked the attention to detail with the Trump mannerisms. Thought Smallsy would have been a better choice to play the Roy Cohn role.

Read that Don had a rant about it and thought it was a hatchet job, which suggests it hit pretty close to home.

4 corrupt real estate deals out of 5.

C_J you literally stole my review

Had to scroll back pretty far back, but it certainly appears I did. I didn’t watch Dark though, so left that comparison out of my review.

Homegrove woah massive spoiler there!! Fucks sake dude 😂

            Endurance (2024)

Does a decent job of telling both stories in the same film, either is so compelling, there’s an argument that they merit standalone films.

The shots of Endurance on the seabed are breathtaking, genuine heart in mouth moment.

There are also some fantastic quotes, but I’ll not drop any more spoilers.

LT42 O watched the Threads trailer, seeing a Woolworths being blown up would have put the shits up people in the 80s 😂

              It’s a helluva watch that 💀

              Great first date movie 🍿

Saw Existenz on the plane back - was a bit disappointed with - it also looks really tired abs dated. 5/10

Prisoners is quite a fucked up watch on second viewing, knowing the twist and all. Hugh Jackman is immense in it. JG’s character is pure thugife. All-time great in the mystery thriller genre. Forgot how good this is.
