Primal Fear (1996)

Edward Norton is excellent. So is Richard Gere. Laura Linney makes the most out of a poorly written part. I miss movies like this. A solid two hours. In and out. Easy. These days it would be an overwrought six hour Netflix series with fuck-all editing.

MCU movie 16/24. Doctor Strange. Quite mid tier in Marvel-movies, not great not bad. Didn’t see this on the big screen when it came out, the trippiness would have probably looked great.

Oh, Benedict Cumberpatch might be a great actor, but he’s one of the few Brits working in Hollywood who can’t really do an American accent.

I’ll never forget seeing Dominic West and Idris Elba doing an interview together. Despite being a fanatic of The Wire I had no idea they were British. I was like, what?!? Why are they talking like that!?!?

Spree (2020, Joe Keery, Sasheer Zamata, David Arquette. Netflix)

This is a great movie but it will divide audiences. A lot of you won’t care for this. You need to go into it blind so I won’t say too much, but basically it’s a sharp, fly-on-the-wall, influencer-culture satire comedy about a young uber driver in modern LA who is desperate to get more followers. I loved it. Joe Keery is brilliant. CJ recommends this.

It’s your standard ’90’s legal thriller. Nothing mind-blowing but I like those films. They’re entertaining. It’s Edward Norton’s first movie, I believe. The end is excellent.

Primal Fear is one of the better ones, IMO, so give it a go. A Time To Kill. A Few Good Men. PF holds its own. Free on Netflix here. Dunno about the UK.
