Reminded me again of something I say too much - that this wouldn’t be a nice 100 minute film these days. It would be some blown out 6 episode show. Totally unnecessary. I don’t always need major character development and deep dives into sub-subjects about whatever fucking town they’re in. A movie, in and out and done, is perfectly fine for most stories.
Oh and no spoiler but the throw-away scene with the Mountain Lion is shot beautifully.
